Abstract

The environment of the rúa Caramoniña in Santiago de Compostela, was one of the sites selected by the jury of the Richard H. Driehaus Competition in 2020 for its international call for design proposals. The briefing proposed the recovery of the existing constructions to turn them into houses for students and artists, and the connection of the site to the neighboring Bonaval Park. Two buildings located within park were also included in the intervention: a construction next to its northern wall, of which only the load-bearing structure is standing, and a building owned by the city, located next to the Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea, and currently used as a municipal warehouse.
